As one reaches the top of the hill; one can see a temple of a fairly modern construction. It is of Vitthal and Rukmini. Long ago, an employee of the DevasthanaTrust, Ganesh Govind Mudgal, had two idols in his house at Shukrawar Peth. He requested the trustees to install these two idols in the temple and he bequeathed Rs. 12,000 for its maintenance. Eventually, he also gifted his house at Shukrawar Peth to the Trust. On 11th June 1931, the temple was completed and the idols were installed. On 15th December 1953, the idol of goddess Rukmini was replaced at the hands of Shri G.Y. Natu, the Trustee.
The present Mandapa is a recently built structure. It is of Maratha architecture style. The idols of Vitthal & Rukmini are recently made and they were ceremoniously installed in 1989 at the hands of Shri Shri Bapusaheb Joshi, the then chief trustee.
